During Phase 1 of the Spencer Highway Corridor Study, more than 90 community members participated in the first Community Meeting Series, held April 8 through 12, 2025, at South Houston High School, the East Harris County Activity Center, and Heritage Elementary School. Participants were invited to respond to questions displayed on large engagement boards, complete a survey, build their own roadway cross section, and speak directly with the project team. Feedback gathered during Phase 1 was used to develop potential corridor alternatives, which were presented to the public during Phase 2. During this second Community Meeting Series, more than 130 community members attended meetings at La Porte High School, Matthys Elementary School, and San Jacinto College to review the proposed alternatives and provide additional feedback.
